GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) is hosting its 8th annual OUTAuction and they are looking volunteers. The event is this Sunday, November 15th and they would really appreciate your help. Please read the volunteer information below and sign up ASAP! Did you know that if you….
*Sign up for Shift 1, you will get to attend the event as a guest! You will also gain access to the After Party! Volunteers who are interested in doing light levels of art instillation/assembly/
*Sign up for Shift 2, you will be helping out in the midst of all the event action! Shift 2 Volunteers will mingle with guests, manage art work areas and assist with the Live Auction.
*Sign up for Shift 3, you will get the opportunity to check out the event prior to your shift starting! You’ll be working a shift that involves helping with art check-out, the After Party and closing down the house!
PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers receive snacks, beverages and a meal during their shift.
Part art auction and part glamorous cocktail reception, OUTAuction NYC is the must attend event of the fall season. PLEASE NOTE: Volunteers who sign up for the 2nd shift and/or 3rd shift are asked to attend a brief Volunteer OUTAuction Orientation on Thursday, November 12th from 6:30p-7:30p at the GLAAD offices. A reminder email will be sent prior to the Orientation. If you cannot make the Orientation, you will be trained at the start of your shift.

Volunteer Hours:
*Shift 1: 9:00am-3:00pm – Set up – gift bag stuffing & set-up
*Shift 2: 3:00pm-9:00pm – On Event – various on-event tasks (i.e. Check-in, Art-Guards/Silent Auction, Check-out Prep, Traffic/Attendee Ambassadors, Live Auction, etc. Event volunteers will be broken into teams for the various event tasks upon arrival.
*Shift 3: 9:00pm-12:00am – On Event & After Party – art check-out, gift bag distribution, breakdown, etc.
*Day Before Shift (Sat. 11/14): 2:00pm-6:00pm – various tasks at GLAAD offices (i.e. truck loading, pack art) etc.
How to RSVP for a shift:
To log in to your system and sign up for an OUTAuction shift, go to https://glaad.org/
Log In: YOUR EMAIL
Password reminders are available on the log in page.
To register for your OUTAuction shift:
Go to the ‘My Schedule’ tab at the top of the page.
Select your assignment. (When selecting volunteer jobs, be careful to select the proper city and position.)
Click Continue to confirm your selection. Double confirm on next page.
After that… you’re done! Easy as 1-2-3!
