THE A-TEAM MOVIE (2010)

Lately it seems that Hollywood is begging for remakes and old school action stars like Sylvester Stallone!

Surely they’re not out of ideas already?

The latest remake coming our way is the A-Team Movie and it seems most are sceptical about what this movie will bring.

On paper it should do quite well. Fans of the original series should turn out for the new movie, even if just out of curiosity. And it should also draw in a nice crowd from today’s younger generation. But the real question is will it be enjoyable?

The A-Team was predictable and stupid, yet it was a show that stood out for its cleverness. But as far as the trailer for the new movie goes, it seems to be things blowing up, things falling out of the sky and more things blowing up.

The teaser poster (posted above) just looks Tacky! It appears as if the casts are being dressed up to look like the original actors rather than the characters.

The famous black van is returning with the new movie and the new van is pretty much identical to the old model.

Many people have found it quite bizarre that the movie was shot using an identical van while it is set around 30 years ahead of the original series and boasts all kinds of modern gadgets and weaponry.

Everyone will remember the original van which was a 1983 GMC Vandura, a good replacement for the new van could have been a pickup truck like the GMC SIERRA, or actually sticking with new vans the Ford TRANSIT or TOURNEO could have been very good replacements. Perhaps fox just decided it was a better deal…use the old van…save some money

The Expendables (2010)

Hitting the cinemas around the same time is Sylvester Stallone’s “Expendables”

Stallone made his comeback in 2006 bringing back his best-known characters Rocky Balboa and John Rambo. Leading up to the release of Rocky Balboa, people laughed at the idea of a 60 year old Stallone hobbling round a boxing ring or running through the jungle but he has since been recognized as being serious Hollywood contender.

Many are already taking bets on which will top the box office, but with an all star cast including Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mickey Rourke, Steve Austin, Jason Statham, Jet Li, and Dolph Lundgren my money’s definitely on The Expendables!
