Hollywood or The Landing Strip?!

Hmm, by now you probably know what this post will be about, I’ll try not to be too graphic & detailed.

A few days ago I went on a first time Brazilian trip, more like a Brazilian strip. Anyways, after reading Beauty Logic Blog post on Dyanna Spa and it’s waxing services, I knew right away I had to try this and I am so glad I did.

When you think about Brazilian wax the first that might pop into your head is OUCH! Brazilian waxes are indeed scary, just the thought of it makes me panic, having someone pull off a couple of hairs at once in your most sensitive area. So not cool! Well my first experience wasn’t as panicky and painful as I had imagine, it was actually kinda funny and painless (to a degree), let me explain…

Beauty Logic recommended that if anyone got this service done to make sure it’s with Allah! Allah is the best, indeed! She makes you feel very comfortable, guides you through the process, talks to you, tells you what will hurt and what won’t and she is right.

Now onto the process, Dyanna Spa uses this hot blue hard wax, that when dry, gets hard, then that hard wax is used to pull the hairs out. No strips needed on top of the wax like the regular waxing.
Now you’re probably thinking, hmm… How painful is the process, the pulling the wax off ?!
Well from a scale from 1-10, 10 being the most painful, the process is about a 6.

I am person that has very little tolerance to pain and trust me, after every application I was scared of how painful it would be to remove, but surprisingly after every removal of the wax, the pain would happen but then I would start laughing.  The pain I felt was that kind of pain, that makes you angry but you can’t help but to laugh.

I really enjoyed my 1st Brazilian experienced.
The question is, would I do it again?!
I’d say yes, for now. I have to see how long it takes for the hairs to grow back and if it’s worth the painful laughter all over again.

I truly recommend this place, especially if this is your first time. When getting a Brazilian you should consider two things, someone that makes you feel comfortable and this amazing hard blue wax.

If waxing is not your think, I noticed Dyanna Spa’s nail polish collection and they have a great selection, and word on the streets is they do great Mani/Pedi here, so go check them out.

Pls note complimentary service did not influence my opinions.

I think I'll try Dyanna next. I'm on the hunt for the least painful wax in NYC. I once got waxed and it hurt so bad I almost walked out halfway through. Then, to add insult to injury, it hurt for the next 2 days.

Oh hell no! That's crazy. I'm so glad my first wasn't that bad. I think that hard wax helps a lot and the spa lady talking to you makes u feel comfortable.
You know what else was great that there was no after pain, like burning, or irritation. A lil redness for a few hours but after that back to normal. Really pleased.

@ArieRich the fact that it only hurt you up to a 6 is great. first time I got a brazilian, I punched the woman out. it was horrible.

@beautylogicblog LMAO! that's crazy! it would hurt a bit at 1st, but then I would start laughing, & Allah was like i luv u cause u didnt cry

@MissSia Wow, threading sounds insane, lol. But I can imagine how much faster and clean it would be after. I get my eyebrows threaded and I love it, never went back to waxing, but I threading my bikini area would be a big jump right now, I have to get used to this a bit more, lol.

Not bad, I go to Shobha threading. My first time it hurt and I screamed. The aesthetician wasnt very experienced. But now that I've found Jasmine, she's quick, thorough and makes sure its the least amount of pain as possible. I love her!
