Every year my New Year’s Resolutions change depending on what is going on in my life, whether is relationships, family, healthier body or a better job, I think I’ve set every most popular New Year’s Resolutions out there. I have come to the realization that most of the resolutions on my previous lists rarely make it past the first 3 months.
2010 was a good year for me, because my list was pretty short and I accomplished more than what I wanted for that year. For 2011, my Blogging Resolutions’ list looks something like this:

1) Set monthly goals for the following:
Subscribers (email and/or feed)
Unique Visitors
Twitter followers
Facebook Likes

2) Set yearly goals for the following:
Subscribers (email and/or feed)
Unique Visitors
Twitter followers
Facebook Likes
Alexa Rank
Outbound links

3) Along with the goals listed above you should also look into guest posting in other sites – this will help you network with other bloggers by sharing information their readers could use. It’ll also help drive traffic to your blog.

4) Attend blog conferences related to your niche or potential career
Conferences such as BlogHer, Disney Mommy Bloggers, BlogWorld, WordCamp or SXSW Interactive, (to name a few), will help you network with like minded individuals and further your career. Go to the conferences for two main reasons: to learn/grow and to network; don’t attend for free stuff.

5) Last but not least get out of your comfort zone
We all like to stay in our comfort zone, fear of taking risks and trying new things. From time to time I get panic/anxiety attacks but with time I have learned to control them. Change and trying new things scares me but somehow I’m excited to try it anyway. I feel the fear and I do it anyway. This resolution is as simple as that, FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY! Life is about the risks we take.
