My BlogHer ’12 Experience – Attending and Meeting The Brands and Sponsors

blogher 2012

I went..

At the very last minute, maybe less than a month before BlogHer ’12 I got the opportunity for a full scholarship.

My Secret to Affording BlogHer ’12

Being that I was already in NYC, I figured this was one conference I did not want to miss, and I knew it would provide me with a lot of great information to share with my readers. So I put up a post looking for a BlogHer ’12 sponsor. I did not get a company to sponsor me for BlogHer, but putting this post up did however get the word out that was I was seriously looking for someone to sponsor me to attend. This is definitely something I recommend to any bloggers seeking to attend a blogging conference.

Anyways, I got to attend BlogHer ’12 by applying for their volunteer program. I was a Liveblogger BlogHer, which means, I attended panel sessions assigned to me and I transcribed each session to be posted on the BlogHer virtual conference site.

If you love to attend conferences for the sessions and you love to take notes, (I know I do, see: SXSW, BlogWorld and NY Times Travel Show), then LiveBlogging is for you.

My BlogHer ’12 Experience is divided into 3 parts, 3 separate posts:

The Brands and Sponsors, The Bloggers, and The Parties

Today we’ll focus on…

The Brands and Sponsors:

During my BlogHer ’12 experience, I came across some really fun and exciting brands, some that I have worked with before and some that I have not, but hopefully will soon.

Below are some, (there were too many to name in one post), of The Brands and Sponsors I met during the BlogHer ’12 conference.

I attended the expo and got somewhat overwhelmed by all the brands and vendors there. Luckily I had an appointment at the Pfizer Consumer Healthcare (PCH) booth, and where a much needed Seated Shoulder/Neck Massage  awaited me. I was also reminded about the awesome benefits of taking Caltrate and how it can help me maintain strong, healthy bones.

I learned more about Samsung and all their  amazing products with state of the art technology. I can’t really decide which one was my favorite, but I was really amazed by the Washer and Dryer that are controlled by your phone, so you can do laundry while away from home, and the refrigerator with the touchscreen that plays Pandora, as well as notify you when things on your fridge will expire.

While picking up my BlogHer Swag bag, I came across the Trojan booth, and boy was it busy over there. Trojan was giving away their newest product on the market, Trojan Vibrations. Attendees at the Trojan booth were asked to complete a short survey on an iPad. The survey asked some personal sex-related questions, such as: have you used a vibrator before, how satisfied are you with your sex life, how open are you to using a vibrator and a few other questions. Below are some of the result findings of the BlogHer survey (findings were provided by Edelman Company):

  • Eighty three percent of respondents have used a vibrator before as compared to half of the general population.
  • Forty three percent of respondents are very satisfied with their sex life, while forty percent are somewhat satisfied.
  • Seventy percent of respondents are VERY open to using a vibrator, and only four percent are not very open to using a vibrator.
  • Fifty nine percent of respondents would post about vibrators on their website.

It was great mingling at the Johnson & Johnson suite. I have always loved Johnson & Johnson products! As a matter of fact, I will be hosting a Johnson & Johnson’s Baby product giveaway here on the site next week so stay tuned.

I got the pleasure of meeting Heather of Best Buy’s WOLF (Women’s Leadership Forum) during the Katie Couric’s keynote.

Best Buy’s Women’s Leadership Forum (WOLF) is an engaged network of women and men, employees and consumers, and non-profit partners working to make Best Buy a great place for women to work and shop. (BestBuy Wolf)

Best Buy has several different WOLF programs, for their employees, customer/friends as well as the Wolf Blogging Network. So if you have the time go check it out.

During my expo walk, I stopped at the Boiron information booth, because I wanted to learn more about this product that I keep seeing a lot lately and people have recommended it to me for sore muscles and other muscle pain. I wanted to learn more about the Arnicare Gel. This product is really great, I tried it as soon as I got home and I love that it is all natural, it doesn’t smell, it’s not greasy nor sticky, and of course it helped reduce this pain and swelling I was having in my hands, which probably was some sort of Blackberry Thumb/Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

This next brand is for my Fashionista Bloggers! 6PM.com is looking for Brand Ambassadors. Six brand ambassadors as a matter of fact. Just visit IWantToBlog6PM.com and enter. You have until August 31, 2012 to submit your blog.

On my way around the expo hall, I stopped by the Energizer booth to learn more about their Flameless Wax Candles. I love scented candles, so I found this booth to be very exciting yet relaxing. The Energizer Flameless Wax Candles are made with real wax, and have a realistic flicker. They are safe – no open flames – and perfect for homes with children, pets and window treatments. They come in a variety of scents, colors, shapes and sizes. I love that they have a holiday collection as well, these will be a great addition to any dinner or coffee table.
