New York State Driver’s License – New Black & White Look

NYS Drivers License new look

Starting July 2013, a newer black and white photo version of the NYS Driver’s License will be issued. According to an article on The New York Times the new cards are so stiff that they sound like a compact disc when dropped, also, the new cards will be hard polycarbonate cards with photos that appear black and white, replacing the bendable color version. The New York Times wrote an awesome article on the Evolution of the New York Driver’s License.

Personally, I like the new cards, looks clean, neat, professional looking, the little bit of colors are not overwhelming, I like it. Unfortunately, those of us that have current, unexpired Driver’s Licenses will not receive an updated Driver’s License until our current one expires. So if your license expires in July, you will most likely get the new version, for me, I have to wait a few more years.

What do you think about the new look? Do you like it or hate it? Share your thoughts in the comments section.
