After Wednesday’s Soulcycle class, I didn’t think I could move anymore. Everything in my body was sore, including random places, like my obliques muscles, some back muscles, thigh muscles, and definitely my shoulders.
Yesterday we did Flybarre at Flywheel and I had done my research about this place, so I was excited to go, but my body wasn’t. I packed my favorite Nike Legendary Printed Training Pants and my studio wrap shoes, perfect for barre, Pilates and yoga classes. What I loved about the pants and the studio wrap is that they’re so comfortable you don’t even feel them while wearing them. That’s a good thing, because you can concentrate on your workout instead of how uncomfortable your outfit is.
I also bumped into my Instagram friend Sacha, we always attend these events but never get to actually meet in person. This time, we finally got to meet. She’s amazing!
So about FlyBarre…
FlyBarre is a total body sculpting class that blends the best of light weight training, dance, and core strengthening exercises. Using small intense interval exercises choreographed to immersive and inspiring music, FlyBarre quickly reshapes the body for lean, strong, and elongated muscles. (Flybarre)
This class is amazing. Our instructor Kara kept our energy up and pumping. Loved it. We did a lot of leg exercises, core, lower abs, buns, hamstring, inner thighs and arms exercises. We also used light dumbbells, resistance bands, ballet barre, and an exercise ball. The best and worst thing about this class is when you think you’re done, you’re just getting started; and I mean that in a good way.
This class is great to sculpt, tone and elongate your body. So if you do a lot of cardio workouts, like running or spinning at Soulcycle, or HIIT classes like Barry’s Bootcamp, you’ll want to combine those cardio classes with some sculpting. After that first session, I know doing a couple of Flybarre sessions will tone and sculpt my body.
After the Flybarre session, Nike Women let us keep the studio wrap shoes, I received a Nike Favorites Sports Bra since I already owned a pair of the studio wrap. We were also treated to another amazing reward, this time we walked to the Nike Running store on Flatiron and we designed our own NikeID running shoes. I went with the Air Pegasus 30 iD. Royal Blue and Purple, because these are the sneakers that will help me get from Blue Level to Purple Level this year. I also added my name on the tongue: Arie Rich. Can’t wait to get them. They’re pretty fly!
