NATIONAL PHYSICAL FITNESS AND SPORTS MONTH: HEALTH TIPS TO GET A SUMMER BODY LIKE ZAC EFRON
Whether he’s a basketball player singing to us across a stage in High School Musical, or a frat boy pulling pranks in Neighbors, Zac Efron’s lean and fit physique has never failed to impress us. Although the actor has made a seriously impressive body transformation since his Disney Channel days, he didn’t just wake up one day with a perfectly sculpted physique. If you have a set routine or are constantly on the go like Zac, below we share three healthy tips that will boost your motivation for that fit summer body just in time for the heat.
· Always stay hydrated: Know how much water your body needs each day, and drink it. The average adult needs about 64 ounces per day and you’ll need more of it if you’re active. Carry a water bottle with you all day to remind you to stay hydrated. If you’re thirsty, you’re already dehydrated.
· Daily 15-20 minute high intensity training: We’re always short on time, but a high intensity workout is all you need. These can be performed anywhere with just your body weight. Choose a different exercise each day that will target areas of your body that you’d like to show off when wearing a bathing suit. Push-ups or chair triceps dips for your arms and shoulders, sit ups to match Zac Efron’s 8-pack or squats for sculpting the lower extremities.
· Meal prep: Exercise and diet go hand in hand in everyone’s journey to a better lifestyle. Avoid justifying a trip to a restaurant for lunch and prep your meals. This allows you to choose the right fruits and vegetables for your diet each day. In Zac Efron’s case, lunch and dinner’s grub consists of healthy fats, veggies and lean protein like avocados and chicken. Remember that your body can process your food more efficiently if it has the right amount of both carbs and protein in each sitting.
If these tips don’t help, Zac Efron’s rippling torso and bulging biceps in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising will be enough encouragement for you to get fit and have the best summer ever.
