This blogging tip is more of a personal experience that I’m not ashamed to share, because in the life of blogging, you live and you learn. The other day I attended an event that I received a private invite for and I RSVPed before the deadline. My first assumption was that as long as I […]

Every year my New Year’s Resolutions change depending on what is going on in my life, whether is relationships, family, healthier body or a better job, I think I’ve set every most popular New Year’s Resolutions out there. I have come to the realization that most of the resolutions on my previous lists rarely make it past the first 3 months.
Not so long ago, I attended a MediaBistro Book Club, and I am glad I did. I got to hear about some really great books in shelves today. Amongst these great books was a fabulous book that I carry with me very often and use it for reference and guidance, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Social Media Marketing, by Jennifer Abernethy.
Blogging Tip #7 – Alexa
This troubles me somewhat, bloggers that blog sooo much, have great content, somewhat good traffic, but their Alexa rank is in the millions. Ouch! I don’t get it! Why is it that if they write so much content and “supposedly” get all the traffic they say to be getting their, it would show on their Alexa Rank, and it’ll be AT LEAST lower than 500,000.
Over the weekend I attended this really great blog conference here in NYC, WordCamp. It was my first time attending but definitively and hopefully not my last. I went through the Blogger track and even if you have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about, you should check out the following two posts: WCNY Part 1 & WCNY Part 2.

Plugins…The plugins section was comprised of a couple of developers and their products…Beau Lebens talked about Intense Debate, a great plugin to better your comments section. Blogging Tip# 4 – Domain Names
Whether your domain name is: supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.com or LOL.com choosing a domain name can be as difficult as choosing a blog hosting site. You might say, why is domain name choosing difficult, just go with what your blog is about. True! But like many people sometimes we have problems remember web addresses, and the simpler it is the better…
First I would like to thank Arie for this opportunity to talk about such an important subject to me, keeping readers loyal. For me this is the essence of the entire business of blogging. My goal is and has always been about building a regular community around my blog with readers and writers that care. From my very first blog a few years ago to the excellent collaboration on Blogussion I have found that keeping readers is far better than having to find new readers everyday. To keep readers I focus on 3 things, sincerity, content, and communication.
Wordpress and Blogger are the two most popular blogging sites out there. I use Blogger. I have tried Wordpress, wasn’t feeling it, I guess I didn’t like Wordpress formatting. At the time when I tried Wordpress I had already been using Blogger for about a year, then something happened and I figured I’d give Wordpress a try, but it didn’t work out for me, so I went back to Blogger and purchased a new domain.
Blogging Tip# 1 Starting a Blog
A month or two ago, a wonderful young lady contacted me via email and told me she wanted some insight on starting her own blog and wanted to know how to go about it. I was shocked, I am NO professional blogger, and I look up to the real professional Bloggers out there, like ProBlogger, The Huffington Post, Mashable, TechCrunch, LifeHacker, Gizmodo, Engadget, Joystiq, even TMZ to name a few; these people are amazing!! And someday I’ll be just as amazing as them, but as of right now I am just a young apprentice. :-)

Starting today, October 24, 2008, I will be attempting a personal goal of reaching 1,000 subscribers in 100 days which means that I must hit this target by February 2, 2009, which is KMP’s birthday. Therefore about 10 subscribers per day. Can you help me do that?!
