Stay Fit While Tracking Your Steps

I live in one of the fittest city in the US, New York City. Where commuting to work is common and walking 10-20 blocks is nothing to be shocked about. NYC is also known for its 26.2 mile marathon, also known as the ING NYC Marathon, where everyone that’s a runner or not preps up […]

Want to Lose Weight and Look Great? Carry a Water Bottle!

If you pay any attention to mainstream media, it should come as no surprise that water is good for your health.  For years, doctors and dieticians have been spouting the ubiquitous “8 glasses a day” missive (despite the fact that almost nobody follows it).  However, if you’re looking to lose those few extra pounds you […]

5 Ways to Motivate a Great Workout

At this time of year, there’s probably nothing you want to do less than work out. As the cold weather sets in and the stress of the holiday season takes over, you are probably more motivated to climb under the covers and fall into a food coma for the next couple of months like a hibernating bear than to throw on your gym clothes and hit the treadmill. Start Early: 5 Reasons to Get Fit before the New Year

The fact that most people have weight loss at the top of their list of New Year’s resolutions is not too surprising considering how much food we wolf down between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. A Runner’s Perspective – ING NYC Marathon

NYC marathon runner holding her medal

On Sunday, November 7, 2010, over 44, 000 runners registered for the ING NYC Marathon and amongst them was my friend Karen Lui and I’m proud of her. After her race I had to ask her a few questions that we might all want to know the answers to, I love her answers, even more motivation to start or to continue running. If you have any questions to ask Karen please leave a comment, but she seems to covered every question we might have:

20 Minutes on the Treadmill is All You Need

A few years ago I posted this post: 20 Minutes to a Great Bod, at that time I was really into fitness and keeping my body weight constant. I slacked off for about a year and then got back to it again this year and I couldn’t be any happier. I am not a runner/jogger, I find it boring, annoying and pointless to run on a treadmill straight for 30-60 minutes. However, after I found this great workout by FitnessMagazine.com I found a new love for the treadmill.

Finding Motivation to Stay Fit – Guest Post by Lita Lewis

The end of Summer is near, and this is the time of the year where we stop going to the gym, working out, and back to eating like crazy, because the Fall/Winter clothes will keep that weight nicely hidden. Whether it’s Summer, Fall, Winter or Spring, I will put in some workout in my daily life.

Little Known Ways to Reduce Bad Cholesterol

The Myth of Good and Bad Cholesterol

A lot of folks always think cholesterol is not good, but you can actually classify it into two types. LDL and HDL are the two types – the bad one and the good one. Quit Smoking

Lately I’ve been noticing those NYC Tobacco ads on the trains, PSA’s on the local channels and it breaks my heart. How can people do this to their body and put their children at such risk?! I can’t say I know what it is like to be a smoker, because I don’t. I also can’t say how easy or hard it is to quit smoking, because I don’t. But I can say that you can do what you set your mind to do.
