Thursday, August 5, 2010 was a great day for Bloggers in NYC, with BlogHer Conference kicking off in NYC, many companies as well as bloggers took the opportunity to keep our schedules busy with fun networking events.
More exciting news about Blog Café 2.0, with less than 2 weeks left, guest list sold out as well as wait list being closed, this event will be a great one, and definitively one to remember.

This week a group of Bloggers and myself launched a blogging newsletter called The Lifestyles of Chatty Bloggers. This newsletter is sent out via email. It is a colorful 4 page newsletter full of fashion, motivational push, random facts, entertainment, relationships tips and great food ideas.
The idea is to give those people that don’t have time to read blogs to give them something to read while on the go; a nice tidbit of 4 great blogs in one wonderful email newsletter.
For the last 2 years I have been contemplating on making the switch to Wordpress (WP). Let me explain.
When I first started KMP Blog it has always been through Blogspot aka Blogger.com. I have always used Blogspot because it is easy to use and less CSS (complicated computer science stuff)….
We all do it “steal other people’s blog ideas and/or blog info,” some of us call it research, plagiarism, borrowing, etc… There’s a saying that says “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”- Charles Caleb Colton, I kind of agree with this saying, here are my reasons why:

Plugins…The plugins section was comprised of a couple of developers and their products…Beau Lebens talked about Intense Debate, a great plugin to better your comments section. Jonathan Davis talked about a Shopp plugin, great if you sell a product on your site. Rafael Mudge talked about a great spell checking and grammar plugin for your site called After The Deadline.
We are looking for writers! Whether you write for a blog, personal site, articles, newspapers or magazines, we want you!

Wordpress and Blogger are the two most popular blogging sites out there. I use Blogger. I have tried Wordpress, wasn’t feeling it, I guess I didn’t like Wordpress formatting. At the time when I tried Wordpress I had already been using Blogger for about a year, then something happened and I figured I’d give Wordpress a try, but it didn’t work out for me, so I went back to Blogger and purchased a new domain.
A month or two ago, a wonderful young lady contacted me via email and told me she wanted some insight on starting her own blog and wanted to know how to go about it. I was shocked, I am NO professional blogger, and I look up to the real professional Bloggers out there, like ProBlogger, The Huffington Post, Mashable, TechCrunch, LifeHacker, Gizmodo, Engadget, Joystiq, even TMZ to name a few; these people are amazing!! And someday I’ll be just as amazing as them, but as of right now I am just a young apprentice. :-)
