Working in the city (NYC) I tend to come across many tourists, and as much as the city loves tourists, the locals don’t appreciate them as much especially during rush hours. Below are 5 tips to help tourists be less touristic in a big city like NYC:
Yesterday, around 5:30pm I made my way around the Apple Store, location: 5th Avenue to see what the line was looking like and what I’ll be facing myself with the following day. As I made my way around to take the pic and record some video, I came across the number one guy on the Pre-order line, Greg Packer. I saw him on Mashable’s video the day before, he’s the dude in the bright orange shirt. I asked him how long he’s been here, he stated since Monday.
The lines are somewhat separated, across from where Greg is sitting, is the NON reservations line, the people with no pre-orders hoping to get a phone on June 24th.
Today I got the chance to attend the coolest book club party ever, hosted by MediaBistro.com. This was my first MediaBistro event, and I am so glad I attended. The staff was super friendly, thanks to Stephanie Mack, MediaBistro’s Event Manager for helping me register for the event, because I was really having technical difficulties that day. Thank you Stephanie for being so patient with me and it was a pleasure to meet you. I also got the chance to meet Jason Boog, Publishing Editor at MediaBistro.com, he’s exactly how he describes himself on his blog, very friendly and welcoming.
Lately I’ve been noticing those NYC Tobacco ads on the trains, PSA’s on the local channels and it breaks my heart. How can people do this to their body and put their children at such risk?! I can’t say I know what it is like to be a smoker, because I don’t. I also can’t say how easy or hard it is to quit smoking, because I don’t. But I can say that you can do what you set your mind to do.
