Dreamgirls Auditions – Nov. 22nd

Dreamgirls auditions has been postponed from Saturday, November 1, 2008 to Saturday, November 22, 2008. Auditions will be held at the Apollo Theater (253 West 125 Street) with audition sign-in from 9:30am till 11am.

(The auditions has been postponed due to
Jennifer Hudson’s family tragedy in which her mother, brother and nephew were
murdered over the weekend.)

The open audition is to cast the starring roles of The Dreams – Deena Jones, Lorrell Robinson and Effie White, and casting directors are looking for women in their 20’s.
Dreamgirls is the story of a young female singing trio from Chicago, and their rocky road to superstardom. The original Broadway production of Dreamgirls opened December 20, 1981 at the Imperial Theater and won six 1982 Tony Awards.
Dreamgirls closed on Broadway August 11, 1985, after 1,522 performances. Dreamgirls features music by Henry Krieger and lyrics and book by Tom Eyen.
The original Broadway production was directed by Michael Bennett and choreographed by Bennett and Michael Peters.
Dreamgirls was adapted into a motion picture by DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures, and opened in December 2006.
