Get Skinnier Than All Your Friends

About 3 weeks ago I read this “diet” book that has probably changed my life and the way I think, see and feel about food.

I read a lot of health and fitness books, in search for something that makes perfect sense. After reading Six Weeks to OMG: Get Skinnier Than All Your Friends, I realized I found that perfect book, because it makes sense.

Before I tell you about the book, I will give you a quick note like the author did to his readers in his book:

Try to have an open mind when reading this book. Some of the things the author asks of you to do will seem somewhat radical and might discourage from reading further. Don’t let it discourage you, Six Weeks to OMG will change your life. In the end, do what works best for you and your body.

This plan will have you taking cold showers (NOT ice baths), skipping breakfast, eating three meals and no snacks, as well as blowing up balloons, all for good reasons though…  Sounds weird doesn’t it?! It did to me too, but after reading the book, it makes sense, it works and it produces amazing results.

My transformational change was a combination of inches and a bit of pounds lost, maybe 5-6 pounds so far.  I have noticed that my stomach is much flatter, I am less bloated, less fatigued, and more conscious of my eating; less hungry for junk food and less snack attacks. Overall, I feel great. I exercise 3-4 times a week and still eat what I want, but of course in moderation. I am currently on week 4, and although I am following Venice Fulton’s plan, I also do it at my own pace and with a few modifications. I see it as if you are willing to try something new, like a diet, you have to make it work for you.

I’d never drink coffee unless it’s decaf with skim milk and one sugar. But with this new plan you are asked to drink black regular coffee no milk no sugar. This was a bit of a challenge for me because caffeine makes me jittery, and black coffee tastes nasty. After a few tries of convincing myself that this is only for 6 weeks, I gave it a try and now I’m used to it. The taste is still nasty. I don’t get the jitters like I thought I would and I’ve noticed that black coffee helps curbs my appetite. So having a cup in the morning makes me think less about not having breakfast and sustaining my stomach until lunchtime (or late breakfast). The black coffee also helps my body burn more fat as I move around throughout my day.

While I was reading the book and going through my skepticism about the book, I reached out to Venice Fulton via Twitter to share how I was doing and if I could substitute the regular black coffee with decaf or green tea. See images below for my Twitter conversation with @VeniceAFulton.

Please note: A complimentary copy of Venice A. Fulton’s book Six Weeks to OMG: Get Skinnier Than All Your Friends was provided by the PR/Marketing company via NetGalley.com for review on my site. However this did not affect the views expressed on this post.
