Last night, KMP Blog was invited to come check out the new Intuit TurboTax Flagship store here in NYC (SoHo). This store opening is one of the nationwide launches of nearly 600 expert offices and 20 TurboTax stores delivering year-round (not just during tax season), but year-round services; helping you handle your finances and maximizing your money outcomes.
Last night’s launch opening celebration was more than an experience but also joined the celebration was cultural icon, the realest and coolest person, Issa Rae. Anderson .Paak & the Free Nationals, Aaron Judge, and other special guests were also in attendance. During the celebration, a $100,000 donation was made to NYC Public Schools to help students learn more about financial literacy.
Before I share some of the coolest moments from last night’s event, let me tell you a bit more about Intuit TurboTax. Intuit Inc. is the global financial technology platform that makes Intuit TurboTax, CreditKarma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp; a lot of the great programs/applications we already use. Yesterday, a very spacious, relaxing, welcoming TurboTax flagship store opened up in NYC’s SoHo neighborhood (463 Broadway). The store will be uniting AI and human expertise to reinvent in-person tax filing nationwide. Intuit is creating a system of intelligence that anticipates consumer needs, automates the tedium of tax preparation, giving customers the confidence they need based on their unique tax situation. Intuit’s consumer platform actively works in the filers’ best interest to find them more money, easier, and faster.

“We are fundamentally redefining what it means to get taxes done by delivering a first-of-its-kind seamless integration of our digital and physical experience,” said Mark Notarainni, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Consumer Group, Intuit. “This isn’t just another tax store; it is the physical manifestation of our AI+HI strategy, a modern space where our AI and local human expertise converge to provide trusted, personalized guidance. We are providing the antidote to tax-related stress and anxiety to give filers year-round control, complete confidence, and better financial outcomes.”
Speaking of tax-related stress and anxiety, did I mention the ambience of this place is very relaxing? As you walk in, there’s a couch area where you can sit and start your tax preparation process. As you sit in this area, you are immersed in a sound bath ambience to help you relax and release any stress. This place is like a mini productive wellness spa. Who would’ve thought of a sound bath while doing taxes?! Amazing!

In addition, listening to Issa’s fireside conversation last night brought up some relatable financial mishaps from my late 90s and early 2000s, like signing up for a credit card for a free T-shirt in college. Listen to her story in the video clip below.
What makes the TurboTax store experience even more amazing?
Agentic AI-Powered “Done-For-You” Experiences: Intuit’s platform automates data entry for 90% of the most commonly used tax forms to make tax preparation simpler for the filer, before they even begin.
AI-Driven Expert Matching: within the store or online, Intuit’s AI-powered system of intelligence matches customers with the perfect local tax expert for their specific situation within seconds.
Seamless Digital and Physical Integration: the store is designed for a fluid flow where customers can start their taxes in one place and finish them in another. A seamless digital handoff ensures a local expert can pick up exactly where the customer leaves off.
Flexible Modalities of Confidence: as a filer, you maintain agency and control in the Community Workspace via “Do It With Me” (DIWM) support or can hand off your entire returnto an expert in private Full Service offices.
Immersive Discovery and Education: The Flagship’s Forum – a 30-foot digital screen – uses ambient animations and interactive touch points to highlight the value of expert guidance and help filers understand their financial options with clarity.
Helping Students Be More Financially Conscious – $100,000 Commitment to NYC Schools
As part of the grand opening last night, Intuit is reinforcing its investment in the NYC community and the next generation of filers. Intuit announced a $100,000 donation to NYCPS. This contribution will provide students with the resources to develop financial literacy, capability, and confidence for personal and professional success.

Nationwide Local Stores Locations
TurboTax is opening stores in key markets across the country to bring local experts’ assistance within reach of millions of filers. Up to 20 stores will open in advance of the tax deadline in the following areas:
- New York, NY – Flagship in SoHo, along with additional locations in Harlem, Williamsburg, and Garden City.
- Southern California – Culver City, Pasadena, and Costa Mesa.
- Chicago, IL – Fulton and Armitage.
- Dallas, TX – Belt Line and Park Lane.
- Phoenix, AZ – Scottsdale.
In addition, TurboTax has activated nearly 600 expert offices nationwide, increasing its physical presence to offer local, face-to-face support.
This event was very motivating and inspiring, especially listening to Issa Rae’s fireside conversation and learning that not everyone has it together at the beginning, and we will trip and get back up again. In times like these, we are now provided with even more resources than before. The TurboTax Store experience is truly that, an experience, and I recommend you go check it out and experience it for yourself.
If you are located in NYC and want to check out their SoHo flagship store, it is located at 463 Broadway.
