If your New Year’s resolution is something along the lines of “completely change life”, then you’re probably due for a major overhaul. This can mean different things for different people. Maybe you want to finish your degree, take your job to the next level, or enter a new field altogether.

5 Ways to Motivate a Great Workout
At this time of year, there’s probably nothing you want to do less than work out. As the cold weather sets in and the stress of the holiday season takes over, you are probably more motivated to climb under the covers and fall into a food coma for the next couple of months like a hibernating bear than to throw on your gym clothes and hit the treadmill. But this is exactly the season when you should try to stick to an exercise routine.
Midweek Recap – 11/24/10
Thanksgiving is nearing in, and most of us are probably super busy trying to get some cooking done. I’m actually attempting to make some Roast Pork Shoulder (Pernil for my Latinos), this is a must-know-how-to-cook dish for us Latinos, if I can master this, then I’m good! At least for most holiday cooking, because EVERYONE loves Pernil (pulled pork, Roast Pork, etc…)
Due to the status of the current economy, many people are now finding themselves living paycheck to paycheck and are losing their motivation to start or build up their savings.
However, saving doesn’t have to be a hard task if you take simple steps to start and stay on track with the process. Here are some tips to get you started and keep you motivated to reach your savings goal.
5 Kids Flicks that Adults Will Love
Sometimes seeing movies with your kids can turn into a total snooze-fest. Let’s face it: most entertainment aimed at kids is simplistic, sappy, and full of moral lessons that we, as adults, just don’t buy into anymore. It should come as no surprise considering that children are still gaining knowledge and developing comprehension skills that we have enjoyed for years.
The fact that most people have weight loss at the top of their list of New Year’s resolutions is not too surprising considering how much food we wolf down between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. With feasts galore, family gatherings full of snacking, parties packed with plates of hors d’oeuvres and high-calorie cocktails, and a slew of treats that you need a shovel to wade through, it can be pretty easy to gain a few pounds.
This winter I want you to love your skin. We all know how hard it is to keep our skin, silky smooth and moisturized. This week I tried this phenomenal product that will leave your skin begging for more, especially during the winter months. Yum Yum Body Polish rocked my skin! I’ve always wanted to try a body scrub at a spa, but with Yum Yum Body Polish you can bring the same experience home.
This winter fashion’s ‘sleeper’ hit has really come into its own; creating your own bespoke shoe, clothing and accessory designs is now a possibility for all. From Burberry Trench Coats to Ralph Lauren Polo shirts, and running shoes with your name on them (literally), you can now easily add your own spin to an increasingly wide range of products. With the help of some nifty web technology, customizing your own shoes is a great place to start.
MidWeek Recap – 11/17/10
Start with a plan. You really can’t get your entrepreneurial masterpiece off the ground if you don’t have a solid business plan in place to start with. In fact, you’ll need to do a lot of research before you even pen the plan. Consider your niche, analyze the market, and try to determine a strategy to fit in before you ever put together a prospectus to show potential investors.
Get Your Home Holiday Ready
Preparing for the holidays is never easy, especially when you have family on the way and mountains of built-up clutter to contend with before you can even start cleaning. When your son went off to college, he probably didn’t expect you to turn his bedroom into a storage facility (and he definitely won’t appreciate climbing over a pile of boxes containing your scrapbooking material to get to his bed when he returns home for the holidays). And since you’ve started working from home, you may have found that what began as a contained office space has quickly spread to coat every room in your house in a layer of paperwork, reference materials, and computer equipment (or product, if you run a retail business).
Going to the shops without any list or even knowledge of what you have and haven’t got in the cupboards can be a disaster. You buy more than you need, and you buy things you might want at the time, but probably won’t later on. Your bill is astronomical and you might still not have the one thing you really needed.
Whether you’re buying the latest noise-making toys for your nieces and nephews (that’s right, the holidays are the perfect time to have a little fun at the expense of your siblings!), a bushel of electronics for your friends, or some new perfume that the ladies are raving about, you are likely to end your holiday shopping spree with PTSSD (Post Traumatic Sticker Shock Disorder).
On Sunday, November 7, 2010, over 44, 000 runners registered for the ING NYC Marathon and amongst them was my friend Karen Lui and I’m proud of her. After her race I had to ask her a few questions that we might all want to know the answers to, I love her answers, even more motivation to start or to continue running. If you have any questions to ask Karen please leave a comment, but she seems to covered every question we might have:
Upcoming Flicks to Watch Out For
Although you are likely bombarded on a daily basis with movie trailers for the latest Hollywood blockbusters, you may have begun to notice that most of them suffer from a major flaw: they’re exactly the same schlock you’ve seen a million times. Take for example the new Denzel Washington vehicle about a runaway train. What’s the name of it? Who cares! It should be called Artificial Tension, because that’s all it is.
